Starting this Monday, July 12, MnDOT says construction will begin on Highway 55 near Glenwood.

Officials say the roadway will close between Highway 29 and 160th Street.  Traffic will be detoured to Highway 29 and Highway 28 in Glenwood until October.

During construction, local traffic will have access to Highway 55 in Glenwood, between Highway 28 and 160th Street, but the roadway will be closed to all traffic between 160th Street and Highway 29.

The work is part of a two-year project to construct an overpass bridge on Highway 29.

RR Schroeder Construction, Inc., based out of Glenwood, is the prime contractor for the $9.4 million project.
