Authorities in northern Minnesota say that two people are dead and two others have been seriously injured after a crash between a dump truck and ambulance.

The crash took place north of Grand Rapids in Itasca County. Authorities say the victims are 51-year-old E-M-S worker Troy Boettcher of Warba and 17-year-old patient Joseph Latimer of Grand Rapids. Troopers say a dump truck driven by Jeffrey Ekholm, 67, of Nashwauk struck the passenger side of the ambulance Tuesday morning at the intersection of County Roads 336 and 57.

Ekholm and the ambulance driver, Kimberly Hake, 28, of Cohasset were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The collision happened at the same intersection where D-N-R Conservation Officer Sarah Grell died in a crash May 24th.
