A man from Crow Wing County has been accused of breaking into a Crosby residence and assaulting a woman.

According to court records, Shane Adam Simons, 35, of Brainerd has been charged in court in Brainerd for felony first-degree burglary and two misdemeanors of fifth-degree assault and fourth-degree intentional property damage.

The charges stem from a call to the Crosby Police Department back on Feb. 26 of a burglary in progress at a residence on Sixth Avenue Northeast in Crosby.

According to the criminal complaint, officers arrived on the scene and observed a window of the residence door shattered.

Simons was arrested in connection to the incident.  

His next court date is pending.
