U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar says her husband has been hospitalized with COVID-19.

Klobuchar made the announcement on Monday.  She says her husband, John Bessler, has the coronavirus.

The Democratic senator and former 2020 presidential candidate said that her husband has been "cut off from all visitors" and that she will also not see him during this time.

Bessler, 52, was admitted to a Virginia hospital with pneumonia "and is on oxygen, but not a ventilator."

Klobuchar said that she and her husband have not been in the same place over the last two weeks.  She says she is "outside the 14-day period for getting sick,” and that her doctor has advised her not to get a test at this time.
