Authorities in Stearns County have reportedly arrested a suspect connected to an assault and vehicle pursuit near the campus of St. John's University.

According to the report, the suspect was taken into custody Thursday evening following a search that resulted in a lockdown of the St. John’s University's campus.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a trooper stopped the suspect, Devan Wilson, 29, of St. Paul, on Interstate 94 near the campus for suspicion of DWI. After a preliminary breath test, the suspect punched the trooper.

The trooper reportedly had his jaw fractured in the incident. Authorities say that Wilson then fled the scene on foot.

A total of 16 law enforcement agencies helped in the search Wilson. We was arrest later that evening without incident.

He is facing a variety of charges including assault, fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, DWI, weapons charges, and others.
