As new restrictions take hold for area bars, restaurants, entertainment venues, and fitness clubs, officials say that hospitals area overwhelmed.

More than 900 staff members at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last two weeks.

Officials are concerned about staff shortages as employees get exposed to the virus.

The 905 new infections brings Mayo Clinic's total to two-thousand-981 employees who have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic.

Other hospitals across Greater Minnesota are also feeling the stress.  CentraCare officials says every hospital system are feeling the pinch.   They estimate that 20 percent of all their patients either have coronavirus or a COVID-related illness
