Minnesota sports columnist and radio personality Sid Hartman has died.

Hartman reportedly died on Sunday. He died surrounded by his family.   He was 100.  

Hartman began selling newspapers as a child in the Twin Cities and worked his way up to being a sports columnist.  His first newspaper column was published in 1945. 

Besides being a newspaper columnist for the Star Tribune, he also worked at WCCO-AM radio and did a Sunday morning sports show for years called "Sports Huddle with Sid and Dave."

Hartman was instrumental in bringing the Minneapolis Lakers to Minnesota along with the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings.
