A man from Douglas County along with his 13-year-old passenger were injured in a motorcycle crash over the weekend. The crash reportedly took place Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say that Lance Schoultz, 38, of Alexandria was traveling on County Road 61 in Ida Township in Douglas County when he entered an S curve and lost control of his motorcycle. His 13-year-old passenger was thrown clear of the motorcycle. Schoultz was pinned underneath.

Schoultz reportedly suffered a leg injury and concussion in the crash. He was airlifted by LifeLink III helicopter to the St. Cloud Hospital. His passenger was taken to to Alomere Health in Alexandria for minor injuries.

Authorities say that speed was a factor in the crash.
