The Minnesota Department of Health on Sunday reported 14 new deaths from COVID-19, bringing the state’s death toll now to 1,040.

Officials say the number of positive tests for COVID-19 grew by 664.  The Minnesota total is now at 24,850 cases. The MDH says the number of health care workers who have been infected rose to 2,690.

Officials say that there were 257 patients in Minnesota intensive care units as of Sunday.  In addition, 298 were in regular hospital beds.

Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order allowing restaurants and bars can start offering outdoor dining and salons and barber shops can reopen starting Monday, June 1.
