A fire broke out at the Brainerd City Hall on Monday afternoon.

The fire reportedly broke out just after noon, causing 10 employees to have to evacuate the building. Officials say most of the staff were working from home due to the COVID-19 pademic.

Firefighters were able to put the blaze out a short time later. The cause of the fire is thought to be related to the roof’s remodeling project.

Winds of over 35 miles per hour caused debris to fly off the building. The extent of the damage is not known.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire.
