Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Dr. Scott Jensen has gained the endorsement of the Minnesota Republican Party.

The endorsement took place at the state party convention in Rochester over the weekend.

Jensen is a physician from Chaska.  He is a former state senator and has been skeptical of the COVID-19 vaccines.

Jensen topped four other candidates after nine rounds of voting on Saturday.

Jensen and his running mate, former Minnesota Viking Matt Birk, will now turn their attention on trying to defeat DFL Gov. Tim Walz and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan in this fall's general election on Nov. 8.
